Removal of wart on dogs face

Animal: Dog
Breed: Staffordshire bull terrier

Pet Symptoms: Does my dog have to go under general anaesthetic or is sedation enough for removal of wart on her face?

Our Advice: It really depends on the dog and how calm/well behaved they are. In most cases, surgery of the tissues around the face need to be under general anaesthetic because with sedation they can still react to what’s going on and if they wake or react during surgery they may injure themselves if we are operating and they move. There are a number of factors that might lead to looking at sedation for surgery and the options for an approach are best discussed in person with your vet so they can examine they problem and go through the options for treatment or surgery with you and discuss your concerns.
