Cat Flu

Pet Symptoms: Hi Our cat has been suffering from a ‘cold’ for a few weeks but generally ok.In the last day or so he seems much worse. Blocked(difficulty breathing properly) and runny nose and eyes and now off his food more and more lethargic.

Our Advice: It does sound as though Boogie had signs of cat flu.  Often these are due to viral infections and should settle without treatment, provided he is eating and drinking and not deteriorating. There are other possible causes of blocked nose/breathing difficulties though, so if he was getting worse I would recommend seeing a vet. These could range from foreign material in the nose (grass can be stuck quite commonly), fungal infections, bacterial infections, masses (inflammation or tumors) and other possibilities too.
